10 Simple Tips to Creating a Better E-mail Blast
Number 10: Don’t ever use ALL CAPS in your message. It looks like you are YELLING!!!
Number 9: Don’t use a lot of exclamation points in your copy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Number 8: Avoid eblasts that are one single image. Most e-mail clients won’t automatically load them.
Number 7: Avoid using large fonts in your content.
Number 6: Underline all links for easy identification. Make sure not to underline anything that is not a link.
Number 5: Make sure your message is smaller than 150kb – larger messages take too long to load and you will lose the reader
Number 4: Do not send more than 1 e-mail a week on the same subject. If you are doing a drip campaign, don’t turn it into a flood.
Number 3: If you producing an e-mail campaign, keep the look and the feel of the blast consistent from week to week.
Number 2: Avoid too much color. A little color goes a long way!
Number 1: Keep It Simple! A header to catch the readers eye and no more than 2 columns wide.
